Seehaus Familie Leifer

Schongauer Straße, 104, St. Wolfgang 5360

Where it sits on the route

This hotel is 149 km from the nearest stop on the route (Melk), outside the Wachau, west of Melk; the pin sits at the end of the strip. Distances are straight-line; the Danube Cycle Path follows the river bends, so ride a little further than the map suggests.

About the place

The Seehaus, originally a Salzkammergut Seevilla built in 1895, is now lovingly run by Magdalena Leifer, the third generation of her family to manage the property. Located directly on Lake Wolfgang, just a short walk from the town center, it offers easy access to restaurants, shops, the boat station, the Schafbergbahn, and the 'Überfuhr' (passenger and bicycle ferry). A child-friendly beach sits directly in front of the house, providing numerous watersports opportunities. The Seehaus offers 15 self-catering apartments with kitchenettes and 3 double rooms. Guests can also enjoy a cozy salon with lake views, featuring a shared kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, as well as coffee, tea, and beverage vending machines. The salon is available for general use and can also be rented for private events such as birthdays, christenings, and weddings.
